SDCC 2010 exclusive cards

Just finished hot foil stamping cards for an amazing treasure hunt.  DKE Toys is running a scavanger hunt for cards featuring artists attending the San Diego Comic-Con.  Details are available from DKE, by email before the show, or at their booth once you are there.   Following clues, you can gather signed artist cards, and upon gathering all available on the floor, you can show them back at DKE to receive additional cards!   As collectors gather cards, they will be counter-stamped on the back.  The hunt will begin Thursday morning at the show.

In preparation, we had a special gold foil seal made, and stamped 200+ each of 6 different cards.

gum for trading card packs

Our number one comment from people seeing the Suckpax 1 card packs was “Is there gum?”

So of course we had to have gun for The Art Hustle series.  The real deal, a stick is going into every pack.

Work by The Art Hustle series 1 artists, found in Montreal

Went to Montreal for a visit over the July 4th weekend (very patriotic!).  Spotted some art by The Art Hustle participants:

Omen Graffitti

Omen produced some great sketch cards for the series.

Next we came across a large piece by Ron English:

A version of Grin, by Ron English.

Hanging at the Yves Laroche Gallery in Montreal, it is another version of Grin, which is the image used in Ron’s printed art card from the series.

Pulling base card sets

We have setup stacks of all the base cards (162).  Task is to pull one of each to collate a base set.  Rinse. Repeat.

We’re trying different methods to collate base sets.  First method was to take a handful of one card, then deal out one into each box bin.  Then pick up a stack of the next card, and deal that one out.  Repeat 162 times.   This second method, walk around pulling one of each, seems to be faster, which surprised me.
